Prisca Chireka is set to unveil her new beauty range on 20th October 2017. She speaks to Pearlwoman magazine on her journey with cancer, the knock at her self confidence, regaining her mojo and why she wants every woman to feel beautiful regardless of what life throws at her.
26th April 2013 is an unforgettable day in the life of Prisca Chireka. A day she experienced a life changing event.
She was heavily pregnant, sitting with her husband outside their Doctor’s clinic eager to hear the result of her test.
“We were meeting my doctor to hear the results of the tests that had been carried out the previous week. The longer we waited the more anxious we became. Imagine how shattered I felt when my doctor told me that I had breast cancer, and it was aggressive.”
Receiving the news of a cancer diagnoses was not just devastating, It was a life-changing bolt from the blue, “but I was determined to see my son being born and to look after him. I gave birth to a baby boy and almost immediately started chemotherapy and radiotherapy.”
Prisca’s treatment was followed by surgery to remove the breast that had cancer. It is not easy to lose a breast. “As women, the connections between our bodies, our beauty and our confidence can be powerful. But I was determined not to let this setback defeat me. I knew I needed to break down the barriers and get through this. I had breast reconstruction and got my womanhood back.”
Mrs Chireka didn’t let this keep her down. She decided to turn this life changing setback into her comeback . Fast forward to now, 2017, and she is dedicating herself to redefining her beauty and that of every other woman.
After passing her Advanced Diploma in beauty with distinction Prisca is back and will be launching her first beauty collection, Anaka – beauty redefined, on the 20th October.
“ It is my passion to see every woman feel confident and beautiful regardless of what setbacks life may throw at her. Here is Anaka – beauty redefined – reaching out to all women who want to redefine their beauty.” She concluded.
