24 year old mother, Lamora Williams has been charged with the murder of her two sons; one-year-old son Ja’Karter, and two-year-old Ke-Yaunte, according to local media
The mother from Atlanta, allegedly put the children in the oven between midnight on Thursday and 11pm on Friday.
The father of all three children, Jameel Penn, called the police after seeing his sons on the floor having received a video call from Williams on Friday night telling him his children were dead.
Another three-year-old boy was also found in the property but remained unharmed according to reports.
Ms Williams had allegedly been suffering from undiagnosed mental health problems, with her sister Tabitha Hollingsworth telling local media that she should be watched for possible attempts to take her own life.
This clearly is a mental breakdown on a woman who probably had had enough. It’s unfortunate that no one found out early and helped her. Now the innocent children had to suffer the consequences.
Mental health is still so prevalent in Black communities because so my are in denial because of fear of being stigmatised.
